Is Your Content Too Long?

Yes.

Generally speaking, how long is your attention span?

If you're like me, it's somewhere betwe–

Aaaand I lost ya.

Ok we're back. The answer is 8 seconds.

Yet Google has taught us the best content is between 2500-4000 words.

Seriously, who has time for that?

Is content for marketing purposes getting too long? I'm betting yes.

That's why I'm starting a new experiment:

No content over 300 words long.

Why would I do such a blasphemous thing?

Here are my hunches. Shorter content will:

  • Be read to the end

  • Be more impactful

  • Lead to more sign-ups

  • Get more shares

As a bonus, it's easier to create.

Great ideas don't have to come in large packages. In fact, the best ones don't.

To be or not to be?

What do you think?
